Thanks to the EBRD and the Government of Switzerland through the Swiss State Secretariat for Economic Affairs (SECO) financing installation of household water meters started in Osh. Turan neighbourhood has been the pilot district of Phase I of Osh Water and Wastewater Rehabilitation Project, 3,360 water meters were installed at households free of charge. The company has already started billing those customers by actual volumes of water used.
Information accumulated by the water meter is read by the hand-held device of the controller remotely, thus it is not needed to open the well where the water meter is installed.
Within Phase II of the Project financed by the EBRD it is planned to install water meters in other Osh districts as well, both in private houses and in flats in multistorey buildings. We will inform our customers further about installation of water meters.
